On September 21, 2026, Viscaria Village in Kiruna was officially inaugurated – a modern accommodation facility for contractors and employees working on the development of Viscaria’s mine and processing plant. Approximately 150 people attended the inauguration.
Together with Viscaria and Lynra, MG Link has developed Viscaria Village with the ambition of creating more than just temporary accommodation. Modern living quarters are combined with communal areas, services, and opportunities for exercise and social interaction – with a strong focus on wellbeing, safety, and a comfortable everyday life.
For MG Link, the project has involved delivering a flexible, high-quality modular accommodation solution tailored to the needs of a major industrial development. By combining newly manufactured timber modules with refurbished and project-adapted modules, we have contributed to rapid establishment and efficient use of resources.
The inauguration included a panel discussion on the vision behind Viscaria Village, guided tours of the site, and the opening of the facility’s fitness amenities.
Viscaria Village demonstrates how temporary modular buildings can provide a high level of comfort while contributing to more resource-efficient construction. As needs change, the modules can be adapted, relocated, and reused in new projects.
