The Assignment
Östra Hospital in Gothenburg needed to quickly free up space for ongoing renovation and expansion while maintaining uninterrupted daily operations. The solution was a temporary modular building at the hospital entrance housing a pharmacy, a primary care unit for minor emergency treatment, and office facilities.
The Solution
MG Link delivered a two-storey modular building of approximately 900 m² located near the tram and bus stops. The placement ensures high accessibility for patients, visitors, and staff while relieving pressure on the renovated treatment areas.
Function and Content
- Ground floor: Pharmacy with retail operations, easily accessible to hospital patients and visitors.
- Upper floor: Primary care unit with areas for triage, minor emergency treatment, plaster room, and related functions.
- Support areas: Administrative offices, staff rooms, and kitchen facilities serving both the pharmacy and the primary care unit.
Lease Solution During Renovation
The building is temporarily leased by Västra Götaland Region during the renovation and expansion period. The façade is adapted to the hospital environment, and the structure is built using a proven modular series for healthcare and service purposes.
